Kerala has been ranked among the world’s top tourist attractions by the Tourism and Travel Marketing Association (TSMRA).
According to TSMRA, Kerala’s tourist attractions rank number five on its list of the best tourist attractions in the world, ahead of Dubai, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Hong Kong.
The tourism industry is estimated to generate around Rs 12,000 crore annually and generate around 8.5 million direct and indirect jobs across the state.
Kerala’s economy has seen an economic boom in the past decade, with the tourism sector creating over 2.4 million jobs in 2016.
According to the TSMRA, the tourist attractions which have been rated in the top ten by TSMra are: Alang, Arunachal Pradesh, Bali, Chennai, Cancun, Cochin, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mahabalipuram, Manchuria, Nagpur, Nagaland, Pune, Patna, Rajasthan, Sambalpur, Shillong, Tambaram, Udaipur, West Bengal, Yakutia, Zaveri, and Zimbabwe.
